Call of Duty: Vanguard is the next installment in the popular first-person shooter series, taking you back to World War 2. Vanguard is not a sequel to Call of Duty: WW2 because it will establish a new storyline and cast new characters.
WW2 revolved around the European battles. However, Vanguard takes you closer to the Pacific Front, North Africa, and various other locations.
The integration process between Black Ops Cold War and Warzone took many months to accomplish. However, Vanguard’s integration isn’t that long as this installment rolls out around the same time as Warzone’s new map.
Vanguard will feature a single-player campaign mode and online multiplayer mode with twenty maps at launch and a co-op zombies mode that will be the prologue to the Black Ops Cold War story.
The Call of Duty Vanguard’s release date is November 5, 2021. Traditionally COD titles release in November except for the two exceptions: Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (2018) and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), released in October.
The game developers have also confirmed this release; hence you’d be able to experience the fight against Nazis on all four battlefronts through the eyes of different Spec Ops characters in mid-November.
The teaser trailer of Vanguard featured four playable soldiers. Every cutscene showed a different location along with a badge that said “Task Force Vanguard.”
The first cutscene shows us the aftermath of a battle on the Western Front. The teaser displays the name tag for Sergeant Kingsley, one of the playable soldiers in Vanguard. Unfortunately, he has been left behind in the fallout.
Another cutscene features the Eastern Front, where we get glimpses of a sniper’s hideout that contains an engraved rifle with the name ‘Petrova’ on the body. Fans think this could reference Nina Petrova, whose model you can spot in Warzone after the win.
The trailer takes you to North Africa to show a destroyed tank in the background alongside several artillery shells on the ground. Next, it shows the Pacific Theatre with a plane crash at the sea where all the four soldiers are fighting together at the end of the teaser trailer.
Playable heroes in Task Force One include the following.
- Sergeant Arther Kingsley, British Army
- Private Lucas Riggs, British Eighth Army
- Lieutenant Wade Jackson, United States Navy
- Lieutenant Polina Petrova, Red Army
Similar to Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare, the progress made in Vanguard will carry you over to your unified COD account. This includes your overall level, battle pass purchase and progression, and even store bundles.
Since Vanguard supports cross-platform play, PC players will be allowed to play alongside their console friends on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S.
One of the biggest problems that have plagued Warzone is the persistent presence of cheaters. Hackers and cheaters ruin the gaming experience for the rest of the players. This has become a massive reason for gamers to turn down Warzone.
To combat this issue, Activision confirmed the new anti-cheat system in Vanguard’s release. So we are hoping to see some heavy penalties that will drop with the release of the Vanguard.
There are several new mechanics in the upcoming FPS game: Call of Duty Vanguard. Some of these include the option to blind fire when players crouch behind the cover. Additionally, the mounting system has been adjusted, allowing players to strafe while mounted onto the cover.
In addition, if you have the option to move while mounting behind the cover slowly, you could change the way you use this mechanic drastically.
Players can also mount around the corners to blind fire when they are huddled up against a wall.
Vanguard’s blind fire looks extremely powerful as it will depend on the object you use to take cover. The gameplay features several instances where the player blind fired an enemy, but they can see the approaching opponent behind cover.
In addition, it looks like the blind firing aims down the sights before firing. Thus, it creates a tighter spread of bullets.
This change seems very powerful in the current state. Therefore, we assume that the blind fire may be nerfed for multiplayer modes.
Activision boasted stunning visuals in the game’s campaign, co-ops modes, and multiplayer mode. They also called it the “next-generation experience.” But what’s new in vanguard’s combat?
Firstly, the good news is that some destructible environments are going to be a part of Vanguard. These environments will allow the players to have different combat approaches.
For example, if you take cover behind a wall, you need to consider whether the cover can blast to pieces with a well-placed grenade.
Similarly, if you mount in front of the window, you have the option to shoot through it by using the blind fire mechanic.
In addition, every map in the game features destructible covers that will degrade throughout a match. Hence, the fighting will directly affect the damage the environment would take.
With new maps, soldiers, and an engrossing storyline, Vanguard is sure to settle in every gamer’s console. So wait until November to place yourself in the shoes of the four soldiers to conquer the four battle frontiers!
